What is San Churro El Social?
San Churro El Social is a loyalty program that rewards members for purchases made at San Churro. There are three core benefits to being a Socialite (an El Social member):
- FREE churros on your birthday or a $15 Churros Fiesta (normally valued at $34.95)
- Every 5th hot drink FREE
- Special VIP rewards created for members only
Who can join El Social?
To be eligible to participate in El Social, a person must have a valid Australian address, a valid email address and be 18 years of age or older. Those under the age of 18 are eligible to participate in El Social provided they are over the age of 13 and have received parental or guardian consent.
How do I access my El Social card?
There are TWO types of cards (plastic and digital) and there are THREE ways to access them:
- Plastic cards must be collected in store and must be linked to your online account in order to activate it. To activate, login to your account and go to My Details on the website (or Update My Details on the mobile app), click on ADD PRINTED CARD, delete the existing number and enter the number printed on your card. Hit SUBMIT to save your details.
- A digital card is available on the mobile app. Select My Card from the menu or MY EL SOCIAL CARD in the orange banner on the lower edge of the screen.
- You can also access a digital version of your card by logging into the website on a mobile device. Click on ‘My Card’ and the QR code will appear.
How do I join San Churro El Social?
There are three ways to join San Churro El Social.
- Download the iOS or Android mobile app, register your details and follow the prompts to verify your email address.
- Visit the San Churro El Social website (elsocial.sanchurro.com), register your details and follow the prompts to verify your email address.
- Visit a chocolateria, register your details on the in store iPad, and follow the prompts to verify your email address.
Please note you must use a valid email address when registering. If you have registered before, you cannot register another account with the same email. If you are having difficulty joining, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
I downloaded and registered my details in the mobile app. Will my plastic card still work?
Not yet. You will have to link the plastic card to your online account when you register by entering the Card Number in the appropriate field. If you experience any difficulties in linking your card please contact our friendly support team at email@example.com
How do I activate my San Churro El Social card?
If you picked up a card in store, you can register your details on the San Churro website (elsocial.sanchurro.com) or by downloading the mobile app where you will be prompted to link the card to the app. Once you have verified your email, your card will be active.
Do I need a plastic card to join El Social?
When you create an El Social account, you will automatically be issued with a digital card. If you have a plastic card, you can link the card to the account when you register by entering the Card Number in the appropriate field.
How do I get a FREE hot drink?
In order to get a free hot drink, you must scan your El Social card or app with each purchase. When you have purchased 4 drinks, the free drink will be available for the next transaction.
What drink can I have with my FREE one?
Your free drink can be any coffee, tea or hot chocolate up to the value of $7.50.
How long do I have to use my FREE hot drink?
FREE hot drinks will be available on your account for up to 365 days. They can be used at any time before they expire.
How do I get my free birthday churros?
Simply present your El Social Card or app along with photo ID to verify your birthday and let staff know that you would like to claim your free birthday churros or $15 Churros Fiesta. Free birthday churros or $15 Churros Fiesta can be redeemed the day before, day of and day after your birthday.
Can I sign up after my birthday and still get the offer?
No. A member must have a fully verified and active account at least the day before their birthday in order for the offer to be loaded onto the account.
It’s my birthday but I can’t see the free birthday churros in my account.
The free birthday churros will available on your account when you go in store and swipe your card. The offer will only appear in your account the day before, day of and day after your birthday.
I have changed my details.
No problem! To update any of your details simply log into your account and submit your changes in the Update my Details page.
Where is my San Churro El Social card accepted?
San Churro El Social is all about connecting and socialising anywhere in Australia so all chocolaterias nationwide will recognise a Socialite, wherever they are from. Check the website for a list of our chocolateria locations sanchurro.com/locations.
How can I check my San Churro El Social account?
All members can access their San Churro El Social account by either logging into the mobile app or through the San Churro website.
I lost my card. What do I do?
You can pick up a new card at any San Churro. Simply log onto your account (via the website or the mobile app) and update your card number.
I have a paper stamp card. Will I still be able to redeem my free drink?
Existing paper stamp cards will continue to be accepted until 29 February 2016. From 22 February 2016, new paper stamp cards will no longer be issued.

I used to get free birthday churros for being a newsletter subscriber. Can I still get them?
Beginning 22 February 2016, only San Churro El Social members will be able to receive free churros on their birthday or $15 Churros Fiesta. If you were previously a newsletter subscriber, please join El Social in order to be eligible for the free birthday churros or $15 Churros Fiesta.

San Churro El Social Loyalty Program Terms & Conditions
The San Churro Loyalty Club Program ("El Social") is a loyalty program which is operated by Venga Pty Ltd ("San Churro").
Order of San Churro
By registering with El Social you agree to forfeit any benefits associated with the Order of San Churro card.
The Order of San Churro card will not be accepted in conjunction with the El Social card.
The Order of San Churro card will continue to be accepted in chocolaterias until 31 March 2016 after which it will no longer be accepted.
Membership Enrolment, Activation and Eligibility
Eligible individuals can enrol in El Social and become a San Churro Socialite ("San Churro Socialite") by:
- downloading the San Churro Application ("App") for compatible smart phones and devices or collecting a card ("Card") from a San Churro;
- in the case of the App, following the prompts to complete registration as a member and verifying their email address by following the prompts following receipt of an email from San Churro;
- in the case of the Card, activating the card in store by scanning it and then visiting the San Churro website at www.elsocial.sanchurro.com and registering their details; and
- verifying their email address by following the prompts following receipt of an email from San Churro.
Only a person is eligible to enrol as a San Churro Socialite.
To be eligible to participate in El Social, a person must have a valid Australian address, a valid email address and be 18 years of age or older. Those under the age of 18 are eligible to participate in El Social provided they are over the age of 13 and have received parental or guardian consent. Parents/guardians may be required by San Churro to enter into a further agreement as evidence of consent for a minor to participate in El Social.
By enrolling in El Social, San Churro Socialites consent to receive the San Churro e-newsletter as well as other emails, push notifications, Vouchers to the App and SMS communications containing special offers about El Social and its rewards and services.
Membership is non-transferable, is not redeemable for cash, and is non-refundable.
No fees will be charged by San Churro for the issue, registration, activation or use of the Card or App. San Churro Socialites are responsible for any costs charged by their service provider for Internet access to use the App.
Membership is a privilege which can be revoked by San Churro in its sole discretion at any time and without compensation for any reason including without limitation, for abuse or breach by a San Churro Socialite of any of the Terms and Conditions of El Social or any other actions deemed by San Churro, acting in its sole discretion, to be contrary to San Churro, El Social or the interests of the San Churro Socialites or partners.
Upon registration, an account will be created for the San Churro Socialite ("Account").
There is a strict limit of one (1) registered Account per San Churro Socialite. Each Account requires an independent email address.
Each San Churro Socialite shall be responsible for updating their Account to reflect any change of their name, mailing address, email address, mobile phone number or any other required membership enrolment data. The San Churro Socialites can update their details on a self-service basis by visiting elsocial.sanchurro.com.
Should a password relating to an Account be lost or forgotten, the San Churro Socialite should go to elsocial.sanchurro.com, where they will be required to enter their email address. Their password will then be sent to their nominated email address associated with their Account.
A San Churro Socialite may not gain any features, promotions, offers or recognitions offered under El Social ("Benefits") from activities or purchases undertaken on behalf of a business.
Individuals must become and remain a San Churro Socialite of El Social to participate in El Social and earn and redeem Benefits.
San Churro Socialites are entitled to free birthday churros or a $15 Churros Fiesta for their birthday upon presentation of a registered physical Card or App virtual card along with a valid photo ID which can only be redeemed the day before, day of or the day after a Socialite’s actual birthday.
A member must have a fully verified El Social account at least the day before their birthday in order to be eligible for the offer. Accounts created the day of or after the birthday will not be eligible for the offer until the following year.
San Churro Socialites are also entitled to every fifth hot drink free upon presentation of a registered physical Card or App virtual card which must be redeemed within 12 months of the accrual.
The free birthday churros or $15 Churros Fiesta must be redeemed in accordance with the directions given by San Churro. San Churro will email the directions to the San Churro Socialites 8 days before their birthday. The complimentary birthday churros is not transferable and cannot be exchanged or taken as cash. San Churro takes no responsibility for incorrectly entered birth dates during the registration process.
From time to time, San Churro may, in its absolute discretion, conduct various reward offers, promotions and discount offers which will be opened to San Churro Socialites (or selected San Churro Socialites) only.
San Churro specifically reserves the right to amend, alter, withdraw or terminate El Social, any Benefits or these Terms and Conditions either with or without notice. Any such changes may affect the Benefits, which you may have previously accumulated, as well as any future accumulation of Benefits. Enrolment, membership and all related Benefits of El Social are offered in the sole discretion of San Churro.
Cards and the App
The Card and the App will be accepted in all San Churros across Australia. From time to time some San Churro chocolaterias may be prevented from accepting due to circumstances beyond their control (e.g. internet outage). If a San Churro does not accept the Card or App, individuals will be required to visit an alternative chocolateria in order to participate in El Social.
San Churro reserves the right not to accept a Card or App should we believe that the use is unauthorised, fraudulent or otherwise unlawful.
Lost or Stolen Membership Cards
In the case of a lost or stolen Card, San Churro Socialites should visit a San Churro and request a new Card. San Churro Socialites must then log onto www.elsocial.sanchurro.com, where they can transfer their existing Account information to their new Card by submitting their details. Cards that are reported as lost or stolen will immediately be cancelled and rendered inactive. While every effort will be made to ensure that the full credit balance for the Account is transferred to the new Card, San Churro will not be responsible for any credit lost prior to the transfer (including but not limited to any redemptions that may have occurred while the previous Card was lost).
Lost, Stolen, or New Phones
In the case of a lost or stolen phone, or in the event a San Churro Socialite obtains a new phone, San Churro Socialites must log onto www.elsocial.sanchurro.com, and follow the prompts to update their password. After the password has been updated, the San Churro Socialite can download the App to their new compatible phone and log in using their email and new password. All information will sync up to existing the San Churro Socialite details. While every effort will be made to ensure that the full credit balance for the Account is transferred to the new mobile App, San Churro will not be responsible for any credit lost prior to the transfer (including but not limited to any redemptions that may have occurred while the previous phone was lost). The barcode is not exclusive to the App and should not be shared in the public domain (e.g. social media).
San Churro assumes no liability whatsoever, including without limitation, liability for any expense, loss, cost, injury, damage, accident or any other matter or thing whatsoever, however suffered or caused (including compensatory, incidental, indirect, special, punitive, consequential or exemplary damages or damages for loss of income or profits), directly or indirectly arising out of or related to El Social or by reason of the termination of or amendment to El Social in whole or in part, the addition or deletion of reward partners or other features with or without notice.
Neither San Churro nor its respective officers, agents, employees and related bodies corporate shall be responsible for any failure of the www.elsocial.sanchurro.com website or for any problems or technical malfunction of a telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email, online or Internet entry. In addition, neither San Churro nor its respective officers, agents, employees and related bodies corporate shall be responsible due to technical problems, traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to any computer or property related to or resulting from participating in or downloading any material relating to El Social. San Churro reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend El Social should a virus, bug or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of San Churro corrupt the security or proper administration of the Programme.
Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions are to be read in conjunction with, and subject to, any additional Terms and Conditions governing any particular reward, promotion, discount or offer operated by San Churro.
San Churro's decisions in relation to all matters arising under El Social are final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into.
San Churro reserves the right to change or revise these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice.
If El Social is suspended or cancelled at any time San Churro may notify members via email or the relevant section of the San Churro website.
If for any reason El Social is inoperable (including but not limited to computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, and technical failures) San Churro reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with San Churro’s systems, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend El Social. This includes causes beyond the control of San Churro which corrupts or affects the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of El Social.
San Churro shall not be liable for any loss or damage caused (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for personal injury sustained as a result of participation in El Social. This includes accrual or redemption of credits, use of a Card or App, accepting a reward or other entitlement, or using a discount offer under El Social, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
San Churro will not be held responsible for any tax liability incurred by a San Churro Socialite in connection with El Social, including in relation to any reward, discount or entitlement offered.
San Churro will not be held liable for any communication to any San Churro Socialite that is late, lost or misdirected for any reason, including but not limited to, spam filters operating on a San Churro Socialite’s email account or other system configuration problems.
San Churro is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or line, computer system, equipment, server or provider, software, technical problem or traffic congestion on the Internet. This includes (but not limited to) any injury or damage to a San Churro Socialite’s or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation in or downloading of any materials in El Social.
San Churro may also from time to time make available to San Churro Socialites promotions and competitions (collectively, "Competitions").
San Churro may publish names of winners of Competition prizes.
Each Competition will be subject to any individual terms and conditions specified on the relevant San Churro website. However, some of the standard terms and conditions are as follows:
- Awards and prizes must be taken intact as offered and are not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash;
- If a person otherwise entitled to an award or prize is under the age of 18, San Churro reserves the right to instead give the award or prize to that person's parent or guardian;
- If an award or prize is unavailable for any reason, San Churro reserves the right to substitute an award or prize of equal or greater value;
- San Churro's decision on all matters relating to a Competition will be final and not subject to challenge or review;
- Benefits may not be redeemed in conjunction with any other promotional offers; and
- Neither San Churro nor its respective officers, agents, employees and related bodies corporate make any representation or warranty as to the quality, suitability or merchantability of any goods or services offered or given as awards or prizes.
Committed to Your Privacy
San Churro and its respective officers, agents, employees and related bodies corporate (collectively, "we" or "our") are committed to protecting your privacy. We collect your personal information for the following purposes to:
- set up and administer El Social including ongoing management of Accounts;
- process and issue Benefits;
- allow San Churro Socialites to participate in promotions and competitions;
- communicate with San Churro Socialites, to deliver a e-newsletter as well as other email, push notification, Vouchers to the App and SMS communications;
- understand San Churro Socialites needs and preferences, and to provide San Churro Socialites with products and services that meet their needs or interests;
- recommend our products and services, or the products and services of third parties we select that may be of interest to San Churro Socialites;
- provide San Churro Socialites with special offers and rewards from San Churro and our sponsors and reward partners; and
- facilitate or enable any corporate or commercial transaction involving San Churro.
San Churro may share aggregated and anonymised San Churro Socialites data with third parties so long as that aggregated and anonymised San Churro Socialite data cannot be reasonably traced back to an individual.
The San Churro Socialite’s information is considered a San Churro asset. If our business is transferred to a new owner, the San Churro Socialite’s personal information may be transferred to and considered an asset of the new owner.
San Churro Socialites may opt out of receiving e-newsletters and SMS communications during the registration process.
