Showing Off Our Fair Trade Coffee Swap

30 May 2011

Fair Trade Fortnight is Australia’s biggest annual celebration of all things fair trade.  And we were proud as punch to show off our swap to fair trade coffee as part of this year’s celebrations.

With events, activities and promotions happening across the country, Fair Trade Fortnight (7 – 22 May) gives consumers the opportunity to celebrate fair and ethical trading values and recognize the life-changing difference fair trade makes for millions of developing country farmers, their families and communities.

As part of the Fair Trade Fortnight celebrations for 2011 Aussies were urged to substitute their usual product purchases for fair trade equivalents and show off their fair trade swap!

Making the swap to our new Fairtrade Certified & organic coffee was a simple decision for San Churro but one that is helping to make a big difference for the farmers in the developing countries from where we source our coffee beans by giving them access to fair prices and money to invest in everyday things for their communities such as education and healthcare.

By swapping their regular coffee for our Fairtrade Certified & organic coffee, our customers are helping those farmers less fortunate than us to create a better and brighter future for themselves and their communities with every cup!

A big congratulations to Eureka Chapel Ballarat for showing off their swap to fair trade and winning this year’s Fair Trade Fortnight group prize supplied by San Churro - a professional domestic espresso machine with one year’s supply of San Churro Fairtrade coffee valued over $1,400.

We wish Eureka Chapel Ballarat and their new coffee machine a long and happy lifetime together full of sweet and tasty San Churro fair trade coffees!
